Rainy Day Memories

I found a box

of memories

pushed back on

a dusty shelf.

Buried in the

brittle scraps

were pieces

of myself.

A photograph

from years gone by--

mischievous glint

in hazel eye.

Yellowed pages

penned with love

from someone whom

I've lost track of.

Words of wisdom,

cards of cheer,

that faded with

each passing year.

Time has stopped

to beckon in

the memories--

remember when?

Bits of friendship

put away

saved up for

a rainy day.
